Ingredients of Zayn and Myza Rich Matte Lipstick:
Sulphates
Several personal care products are filled with sulfates like Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Ether Sulfate and Ammonium Lauryl Sulphate. These are mainly responsible for irritation to skin and scalp and have other side effects linked to it.
Parabens
Parabens have a bad reputation, with Benzyl Paraben and Isobutyl Paraben being a few of them. They are responsible for causing skin reactions like contact dermatitis. Along with that, it can also cause endocrine disruption, affecting hormonal functioning.
Phthalates
Phthalates are one of the most toxic chemicals in personal care products. Variants like Diethyl Phthalate, Dibutyl Phthalate, etc, could cause toxic effects on liver, reproductive system, kidney, and other developmental issues.
Benzalkonium Chloride
Often used in shampoos, cleansers, and other skincare products, this one is notoriously famous for being genotoxic. In other words, Benzalkonium Chloride may cause damage to the DNA which is commonly associated with cancer.
Coal tar
Coal tar is a thick black liquid that remains after the distillation of coal and is considered highly carcinogenic. Yet it is often found in personal care products that can lead to skin and eye irritation along with skin and respiratory toxicity.
Hydroquinone
Another nasty chemical that is commonly used in skin whitening solutions. Its prolonged use may cause loss of skin color, also known as Leukoderma, and Ochronosis. It is often linked to eye irritation, sensitivity, and visual disturbances.
Acetaldehyde
One of the most carcinogenic substances used in skincare products is seldom linked with esophageal cancer and irritation to the eyes, skin, and respiratory system.
Toluene
An aromatic liquid, often used in nail paints and hair dyes, Toluene is toxic to both skin and eyes. It is potentially cancerous and can cause respiratory disorders.
Methylene chloride
A sweet-smelling liquid, often used in cosmetics, is responsible for neurotoxicity and hypoxia, i.e., deprivation of oxygen to body cells that may lead to life threatening conditions and CNS-related side effects.
Resorcinol
Used to cure skin conditions like acne, psoriasis, etc, Resorcinol is often associated with hyperkeratosis, i.e., thickening of outer skin layer. Along with this, this chemical nasty is also responsible for severe skin irritation and necrosis.
Acetonitrile C
Look for this culprit in your body baths, cosmetics, and nail enamels. It is accused of causing skin discoloration, posture deformities, ulcerations, liver disorders and cellular discrepancies.
Butoxyethanol
This nasty has been a part of many facial cleansers, hair colors, and bleaching products and is often accountable for causing blood-related conditions like thrombosis, caused by clotting, necrosis and haematotoxicity.
Mercury
Mercury and mercury compounds are often found guilty of causing toxic effects on the nervous system, kidneys, and cardiovascular system. Conventionally used in face creams and cosmetics, it is linked with respiratory, reproductive, stomach, and immunity issues.
Methylisothiazolinone/Methylchloroisothiazolinone
A widely used preservative in cosmetics, this nasty is infamous for skin irritation, damage to respiratory tract and chronic passive congestion. The Obama administration has even proposed a ban on methylene chloride accusing it of causing 'unreasonable risks' to human health.
