Pongal is a South Indian delicacy prepared using dal and rice. But high glycemic value of the paddy rice becomes a constraint if you are diabetic or health conscious. Hence, we have recreated the magic of Pongal with one of the healthiest whole grains - Foxtail Millet. Millets and dal is mixed in an ideal proportion along with spices such as cumin and pepper to ensure authentic flavour. Our ready mix is easy to cook, just add salt as per your taste and cook it in a pressure cooker, then add a bit of seasoning/tadka. Your delicious, aromatic and healthy pongal will be ready. Foxtail is one of the most popular grain among the millets because of its versatility and health benefits. Abundance of dietary fiber, and minerals such as iron and copper keeps the bad cholesterol at check, and boosts immunity. Millets are the ancient grains that are gluten free, fiber rich and packed with micronutrients, they also have a legacy of over 5000 years. These native crops were undermined during the Green Revolution when paddy and Jowar was promoted in large scale.
