Farm grown the traditional way in an area famous for growing turmeric since ages, grown by a hardworking farmer Mr Mahajan, a farmer family processing it, this variety is known as Selam Haldi or Salem Turmeric and has a strong aroma and a deep colour. The rhizomes are used fresh or boiled in water and dried, after which they are ground into a deep orange-yellow powder commonly used as a colouring and flavouring agent in many Indian cuisines, especially for curries, as well as for dyeing, Salem Haldi powder has a warm, bitter, black pepper-like flavor and earthy, mustard-like aroma.
