Common Name: Valerian, Valeriana Causes & Symptoms for Valeriana Officinalis It is indicated in the incurable cases of moral disturbances, passing from one extreme of emotion to another, from the highest joy to the deepest grief. Valerian is useful in the recovery of patients after nervous complaints. Spasms in abdomen, generally in evening, in bed, or after dinner. Eruption of small, hard nodosities on chest. It is useful in worm infection specially the ascarides in the rectum. Mind and Head Valeriana relieves the sinking of the vital forces accompanied by a painful craving for stimulants, to the greatest liveliness and extravagance. Nervous irritation, cannot keep still, tearings, cramps, better morning. It is useful in congestion of the head. Headache, which appears suddenly or in jerks. Headache, worse in evening, when at rest, and in the open air, better from movement in the room indicates Valerian. Eyes, ear Pressure, burning sensation, and smarting in eyes as from smoke, morning after rising, with soreness and swelling of lids. Tinkling and ringing in the ears with pain is relieved with Valerian which is affected by cold air.
