It is a liquid medicine, containg 5 – 10 % of self generated alcohol. The alcohol along with water acts as media for the herbal active principles. It is also called Dhanvantararishtam. Dhanwanthararishtam uses: It is used in the treatment of low digestion power, low back ache. It is a very good uterine tonic. It is also useful in post natal care of the mother. An accepted medicine in hemiplegia, facial paralysis, opisthotonos (bahyayamam) and emprothotonos (antarayamam) and all other vata disorders. Excellent in fever, hernia, gulma, strained micturition. Doctors also prescribe this medicine for the treatment of Gout, Arthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis. Dhanwanthararistam dose: 12 – 24 ml after food. once or two times a day, or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor. It can be administered for a period of 1 – 2 months.
