About :
Saptarangi or Salacia oblonga is a native of India and Sri Lanka. It is a woody shrub that grows in rain forests. It bears yellow green flowers with berries as fruits. It contains active constituents, glycosidase inhibitors, Salacinol and Kotalanol.
